Milano Wine Week 2024: wine meets the new generations in the heart of the city

A journey through tastings, design, and sustainability, with exclusive events in Brera and beyond

The Milano Wine Week 2024, scheduled from October 5 to 13, marks its seventh edition with a rich programme of events spanning the entire city, establishing Milan as a hub of wine culture. The aim this year is clear: to connect the wine world with younger generations through modern and inclusive formats that blend tradition, innovation, and sustainability. This edition stands out for its engagement with Millennials and Gen Z, breaking down the barriers that often keep these groups distanced from wine, which is typically seen as a traditional product.

The programme includes a wide range of activities, from interactive tastings to masterclasses with industry experts, and immersive events that merge the pleasure of wine with other pillars of Italian excellence such as design, fashion, and culture. For instance, One Wine Night is an exclusive event that combines electronic music with wine tastings, aiming to creatively engage the younger generation.

One of the most innovative aspects of this edition is the focus on sustainability, with initiatives like Wine in Action, a programme promoting sustainable wine startups. The project seeks to address the future challenges of the industry, including climate change and technological innovation, by actively involving producers and investors.

The Brera district will also play a key role in Milano Wine Week 2024, with a series of dedicated events that blend wine, design, and culture, perfectly matching the district’s creative atmosphere:

Temporary Wine Bar by La Versa: A historic newsstand in the heart of Brera will be transformed into a unique wine bar, offering visitors the chance to taste wines from the La Versa winery. This week-long initiative provides an innovative way to experience wine in an unexpected and convivial urban setting.

Winetage Showroom: Located at Via dei Bossi 2, this space will host a series of tastings from October 5 to 12, with each evening focusing on a different winery. The events will spotlight creative uses of barrique barrels, featuring wineries like Balgera from Valtellina, Tommasi from Valpolicella, and Castello di Meleto from Chianti.

Dinner at Identità Golose: For those looking to combine fine dining with great wines, the Once Upon a Wine dinner will take place on October 8 at the renowned Identità Golose restaurant in Milan. This exclusive event offers the opportunity to enjoy legendary Italian wines paired with gourmet dishes, celebrating the best of the region’s culinary and wine-making traditions.

These events make Brera the perfect meeting point for those looking to explore the world of wine through unique experiences, all set within a context of art and culture.
