A monumental exhibition where Past, Present, and Future come together for a sensory immersion into the world of decorative arts and French Haute Facture
The exhibition MONOLITHES offers a sensory immersion between monumental Minimal Art and futuristic Primitivism.
Created by the Franco-Italian stylist and designer Guillaume Hinfray, this exhibition offers an initiatory voyage through remarkable pieces showcasing rare craftsmanship from five exceptional French manufactures: Atelier Alain Ellouz, Duvivier Canapés 1840, Manufacture Robert Four, SIGébène, and Taillardat.
Visitors are immersed in a timeless journey where exceptional pieces coexist with the most contemporary creations, offering a unique sensory experience that propels the audience towards a future where decorative art is constantly reinvented. Across two exhibition floors, the scenography provides a meaningful setting for the superior craftsmanship of each participating manufacture, inviting visitors to explore a mysterious decor adorned with monolithic structures.
These imposing structures evoke not only tradition but also innovation and modernity. As visitors wander among these architectural works, they will discover the ingenuity and creativity that characterize the work of French artisans, demonstrating their ability to seamlessly blend tradition and modernity.
“The Monolith expresses man’s desire to transform matter into thought. Its monumental form emerged naturally as the means to highlight the same principle of transformation. That of manual labor and design by remarkable French creators and manufacturers, with exceptional craftsmanship.“
Guillaume Hinfray, designer and artistic director
The five Haute-Facture houses are set apart by their unique histories and artisanal craftsmanship. Most of them have been awarded the ”Living Heritage Company” label by the French Government, a guarantee of the excellence of their savoir-faire.
The common link between all these houses is the concept of «Manufactus» and their relationship with time meaningfully staged by Artistic director Guillaume Hinfray.
