Design and technology for a more conscious future of food

Feeding the Future is an AI-powered interactive experience that invites visitors to reflect on how reducing waste can start with the choice of home appliances

At the 2026 Milan Design Week, the SKS showroom confirms its role as a key destination for exploring the dialogue between design and food culture. LG Electronics’ built-in appliance brands (SKS and LG Built-in) present an interactive experience that encourages visitors to reflect on food consumption and the role of domestic technology in reducing waste.

The exhibition project develops around SKS’s core values — innovation, design, and respect for raw ingredients — offering a clear and cohesive narrative. Alongside the SKS range, LG’s Built-in Premium solutions expand design possibilities, highlighting technology as an ally for more conscious use of resources.

In the outdoor gallery, an AI-supported interactive journey illustrates the lifecycle of food. Indoors, SKS and LG technologies become practical tools to reinterpret the relationship between food, preservation, and consumption, promoting more sustainable everyday behaviors.

Within this context, “Tracce” is introduced: a capsule collection developed with Abet Laminati that enhances the versatility of SKS appliances. Patterns by Ettore Sottsass, Alessandro Mendini, and Superstudio are applied to the Undercounter Wine Cellar and Undercounter Convertible Refrigerator, creating a dialogue between technology and decoration that transforms the appliance into a distinctive element of the home, even beyond the kitchen.
