To talk about his story, you have to go back, but way back. Even in 1496, the year in which, under Ludovico il Moro, a dock was built where the waters of the Martesana ship could flow into to allow the loading and unloading of goods travelling on the barges. This small artificial commercial port was called el tombon de San Marc. And so we discovered the origin of the name. Then we go back to the middle of the nineteenth century, when he opened a bottle shop, which lasts until the next century. Since 1957, here we are nowadays, a pub opens, which keeps the name of the old port and soon becomes a meeting place with mixed attendance: students, intellectuals, even Carabinieri of the nearby barracks. It is one of the most characteristic places in Milan. The walls are of the Pio Albergo Trivulzio, managed by Cesare Denti, expert patron of many restaurants. Lifting on the walls, even if the colour is always red and there is always wood and that antique air, but the shining mirrors and the chandeliers with drops give a more elegant air, which was not there before, and instead of students and caramba you can see, especially at lunch, employees and rampantelli. But there are also the inhabitants of the area, who reclaim "their" space. We eat at lunch and dinner (typical Milanese cuisine), there is an aperitif with buffet from 18.30 to 22.30, you can still stay late (until 2 am). A rediscovered place of the Milan of the past.
