“The Private Lives of Objects” invites to discover how objects inhabit space with natural ease giving rise to unexpected harmonies, imprinted with life experiences
With “The Private Lives of Objects” Flexform presents its new indoor and outdoor collections at its showroom on Via della Moscova and in the nearby Sant’Angelo cloister.

The two installations invite us to step beyond the visible in order to explore the secret narrative that binds people to the things around them; to perceive every piece as a silent protagonist within an intimate and personal sphere – within a relationship unfolding in quiet equilibrium, shaped by habits and shared emotions.
Because, ultimately, design can truly be an extension of identity. To perceive the “private life” of objects is to look beyond function. Materials cease to be surfaces; they become traces. A sofa does not simply occupy space – it holds the echo of conversations, noting absences and returns. This is the purpose of the new Quincy seating system which, Antonio Citterio explains, “stems from a reflection on the role of the sofa in contemporary spaces”.

Conceived to become the focal point of the room, the Quincy sofa moves away from rigid angles to explore a more organic shape, capable of redefining the living space with a strong sense of identity. “The choice of a curvilinear configuration”, clarify the architect, “introduces a more fluid and convivial dimension to the living area, while maintaining a clear architectural structure. The design is based on the balance between the continuous backrest shell, which defines the structure of the sofa, and the down-filled seat cushions placed within it, crafted to offer natural, welcoming comfort.”
