The Acquario Civico is housed in a beautiful Art Nouveau building that with its friezes and majolica tiles tells its contents on the outside. It is located next to the Arena Civica and on the edge of the Parco Sempione, of which it reproduces the elliptical architecture. The current layout of the building and the basins is the result of the renovation (2003-2006) which returned the Institute, in its new guise, to visitors and citizens.
