Orizzonti: aesthetics and experimentation with FENIX®

With its innovative material, FENIX® shapes surfaces that hold stories.

Technology, aesthetics, and experimentation: with these values, FENIX® joins the Orizzonti project, bringing to the Brera Design Apartment advanced surfaces designed for contemporary living. The collaboration with Zanellato/Bortotto renews an ongoing creative dialogue, grounded in a shared vision of design as a connection between worlds, languages, and materials. In this interview, the brand shares its contribution to the project and its ongoing drive toward new applications and inspirations.

Why did the company decide to participate in the project?

Participating in the “Orizzonti” project offers the company a valuable opportunity to collaborate with creative talents like Zanellato/Bortotto and to explore new applications for FENIX® materials in various contexts and uses, ranging from industrial to interior design. Additionally, the project represents an occasion to strengthen the strong and lasting relationship with the Brera Design District.

How has the concept of contemporary living evolved for the company, and what are the key elements behind the development of new products?

Created in 2013 by Arpa Industriale, the innovative FENIX® materials were designed to fully meet the demands of contemporary living by combining elegance and functionality. The company’s long-standing know-how merges with ongoing aesthetic and technological research, paving the way for experimentation and the creation of technologically advanced surfaces capable of meeting the needs of an ever-evolving market.

What brand values are reflected in the project?

Among the core values of FENIX® are a drive for innovation and the ability to synthesize inspiration and influences from diverse fields. This concept is perfectly echoed in the idea of “Connected Worlds”, which lies at the heart of the “Orizzonti” project by Zanellato/Bortotto.
Aesthetically, a strong connection between the designers’ work and the brand is expressed through color—a key element in the Brera Design Apartment and a defining trait of FENIX®, known for its sophisticated palette, soft-touch feel, and deep matte finish. In both cases, the chromatic research draws inspiration from places and cultures, both near and far.

What are the expectations from this project?

FENIX®’s participation in the “Orizzonti” project provides a significant opportunity for the brand to demonstrate to clients, architects, product designers, companies, and interior decorators the wide range of potential applications for its materials in all areas of the domestic space, inspiring them to explore new creative possibilities.

What was it like working with the Zanellato/Bortotto studio, and in what aspects of their work and language do you see yourselves?

FENIX® has previously collaborated with Zanellato/Bortotto and enthusiastically welcomed the chance to further strengthen this creative relationship. The alignment between the designers’ approach and FENIX®’s philosophy made the collaboration both engaging and stimulating, highlighting new, poetic, and sophisticated applications, materials, and design contexts.
