Inside no. 34 Corso Garibaldi there\u2019s an old furnace<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Inside a courtyard on Corso Garibaldi is the so-called Fornace degli Angioli, a currently private, residential building converted from an old furnace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This building, once a city furnace for artisans, was used with the consent of the Milan City Council by architect Vittorio Mazzucconi with an agreement that the building would be immediately abandoned as soon as the demolition order arrived.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mazzucconi therefore made the necessary arrangements for his studio and renamed the building La Fornace degli Angioli.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, the demolition plans of the Milan City Council changed with the redevelopment of the Garibaldi district in the 1980s, as they wanted to return it to the city as a public place at the service of citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From a letter dated 30 September 1981 written by architect Mazzucconi to the Area Council, it is understood that the destination could have been that of a canteen for artisans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The same document, however, is a memo from the architect so that he could consider leaving the destination of the brickworks as it was.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 1991, however, Mazzucconi left the studio in the furnace and the architect’s own activity to devote himself to something else.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All\u2019interno di un cortile in Corso Garibaldi si trova la cosiddetta Fornace degli Angioli, un edificio attualmente privato e residenziale ricavato da una vecchia fornace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Questo edificio, un tempo fornace di citt\u00e0 per gli artigiani, venne utilizzato con consenso da parte del Comune di Milano, dall\u2019architetto Vittorio Mazzucconi con un accordo che prevedeva l\u2019immediato abbandono dell\u2019immobile non appena sarebbe arrivato l\u2019ordine di demolizione.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mazzucconi fece dunque le dovute sistemazioni per il suo studio e rinomin\u00f2 l\u2019edificio La Fornace degli Angioli.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tuttavia i piani di demolizioni del Comune di Milano cambiarono con la riqualificazione del quartiere Garibaldi negli anni \u201880 in quanto volevano restituirla alla citt\u00e0 come luogo pubblico al servizio del cittadino.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Da una lettera del 30 settembre 1981 scritta dall\u2019architetto Mazzucconi al Consiglio di Zona si intende che la destinazione avrebbe potuto essere quella di una mensa per artigiani.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lo stesso documento per\u00f2 \u00e8 una memoria da parte dell\u2019architetto di modo da poter valutare l\u2019ipotesi di poter lasciare la destinazione della fornace cos\u00ec com\u2019era.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nel 1991 tuttavia Mazzucconi lasci\u00f2 lo studio nella fornace e l'attivit\u00e0 stessa di architetto per dedicarsi ad altro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
