presence of a fascinating dome, but not everyone knows what it is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Brera Astronomical Observatory (OAB), a world-renowned research institute of excellence, is the oldest scientific institution in Milan.<br>Since 1946 it has been part of the scientific institutions of the Italian Republic and in 2001 became part of the National Institute of Astrophysics (INAF).<br>The observatory has been located in Milan&#8217;s Brera palace since 1762, the year in which Father Lagrange established professional observational astronomical research in Milan.<br>The first specola, designed and built by Father Ruggero Boscovich in 1764, underwent transformations to adapt to the observational needs of later periods.<br>Subsequently, most observational activities were transferred to the second site at Villa San Rocco, in Merate (LC), Brianza, active since 1923.<br>Research activities are still fully in force at both observatory sites.<br><br>It is also home to the Brera Astronomical Museum, Brera (OAB), istituto di ricerca d\u2019eccellenza riconosciuto a livello mondiale, \u00e8 la pi\u00f9 antica istituzione scientifica di Milano.<br>Dal 1946 \u00e8 entrato a far parte delle istituzioni scientifiche della Repubblica Italiana e nel 2001 \u00e8 confluito nell\u2019Istituto Nazionale di Astrofisica (INAF).<br>L\u2019osservatorio mantiene la sua sede in palazzo Brera a Milano fin dal 1762, anno in cui Padre Lagrange imposta l\u2019attivit\u00e0 di ricerca astronomica osservativa di tipo professionale a Milano.<br>La prima specola, progettata e fatta costruire da padre Ruggero Boscovich nel 1764, ha subito trasformazioni per adattarsi alle esigenze osservative dei periodi successivi.<br>Successivamente, la maggior parte delle attivit\u00e0 osservative vengono trasferite alla seconda sede presso Villa San Rocco, a Merate (LC), in Brianza, attiva dal 1923.<br>L\u2019attivit\u00e0 di ricerca \u00e8 ancora pienamente in vigore in entrambe le sedi
