Cristina Trivulzio di Belgiojoso patriot, central figure of the Italian Renaissance.<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

On 15 September 2021, the first statue dedicated to a female figure, Cristina Trivulzio di Belgiojoso, was unveiled in Milan in the Piazza Belgioioso of the same name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is impossible to sum up in a few lines the life of Cristina Trivulzio di Belgiojoso, Italian patriot, writer, journalist and noblewoman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She was born in 1808 in Milan and lived her life at the height of the Italian Risorgimento in which she actively participated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not much is known about her life as a child, the only information is found in some letters exchanged with her friend Ernesta Bisi, who was her drawing teacher and who introduced her to the world of \u201cconspiracy\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She married Emilio Barbiano di Belgiojoso on 24 September 1824, aged just 16.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The marriage did not last long, Emiliano ran off with another countess, but they remained friends until the end of their lives and never officially divorced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cristina was a revolutionary, supported the liberation movement and had to flee from the Austrian government, which frowned upon her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She took refuge in the south of France with no possessions, no money.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She then arrived in Paris, making a living for a few months by teaching music and portraying famous people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She managed to get back on his feet, always following his political struggle, until 1838, when Maria, daughter of an uncertain father, was born. From this moment on, he lived a period of isolation between England and Paris, finally returning to his home in Locate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Locate, she contributed by building kindergartens, a public warming house and donating his dowries to poorer brides. She also resumed his political struggle by supporting movements and insurrections in the cities of Naples and Rome, narrowly missing the 5 Days of Milan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the years she gradually reduced her political struggle, devoting herself more and more to her daughter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She died young in 1871 of pneumonia and was buried in Locate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Il 15 settembre 2021 \u00e8 stata inaugurata a Milano la prima statua dedicata ad una figura femminile, Cristina Trivulzio di Belgiojoso, nell\u2019omonima Piazza Belgioioso.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00c8 impossibile riassumere in poche righe la vita di Cristina Trivulzio di Belgiojoso, patriota, scrittrice, giornalista e nobildonna italiana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nacque nel 1808 a Milano e visse la sua vita nel pieno del Risorgimento Italiano a cui partecip\u00f2 attivamente.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Della sua vita da bambina non si sa molto, le uniche informazioni le ritroviamo in alcune lettere scambiate con l\u2019amica Ernesta Bisi, che era la sua insegnante di disegno, e che la introdusse nel mondo della \u201ccospirazione\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Si spos\u00f2 il 24 settembre 1824 con Emilio Barbiano di Belgiojoso, a soli 16 anni.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Il matrimonio non dur\u00f2 molto, Emiliano scapp\u00f2 con un\u2019altra contessa, ma rimasero comunque amici fino alla fine delle loro vite e non divorziarono mai ufficialmente.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cristina era una rivoluzionaria, appoggiava il movimento della liberazione e dovette scappare per fuggire dal governo austriaco che non la vedeva di buon occhio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Si rifugi\u00f2 nel sud della Francia senza averi, senza soldi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Arriv\u00f2 poi a Parigi, arrangiandosi per alcuni mesi guadagnandosi da vivere insegnando musica e ritraendo personaggi illustri.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Riusc\u00ec a rialzarsi, a seguire sempre e comunque la sua lotta politica, fino al 1838, quando nacque Maria, figlia di padre incerto. Da questo momento vivr\u00e0 un periodo di isolamento tra l\u2019Inghilterra e Parigi, facendo infine ritorno nella sua dimora di Locate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Locate contribu\u00ec costruendo asili, uno scaldatoio pubblico e donando le sue doti alle spose pi\u00f9 povere. Riprese anche la sua lotta politica appoggiando i movimenti e le insurrezioni nelle citt\u00e0 di Napoli e Roma., mancando per poco le 5 giornate di Milano.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Negli anni ridusse pian piano la lotta politica, dedicandosi sempre pi\u00f9 alla figlia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mor\u00ec giovane nel 1871 per una polmonite e venne seppellita a locate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
