Lightness of the Sign. Louise Gaggini

A solo exhibition dedicated to the Italian artist of French origin, Louise Gaggini, titled “Leggerezza del segno” (Lightness of the Sign).

The artist develops a painting style characterized by broad areas of soft colors and luminous marks, creating worlds that engage with the viewer on existential aspects of life. Her work echoes the delicate tones of Fautrier, with strong contrasts between light and shadow, and a method of spatial construction between image and background that one might find in the gestural approach of Hartung or Soulages.
